ACADEMIC
INCENTIVES RESOURCE CENTER
The physical resources available for children
and teachers shrink every year as school budget
constraints grow. Generous businesses and
concerned citizens often want to help, but
do not know specific needs or how to donate
items with the surety that they will be well
used to benefit children and schools. The
CIS Academic Incentives Resource Center (AIRC)
provides a vehicle for reaching an extensive
array of these untapped community resources.
DIVISION PURPOSES
CIS receives more than $3 million in donated
items from generous individuals, corporations,
and organizations every year. While some items
are delivered directly to schools, the AIRC
receives, organizes, and distributes most,
sending them where the needs are greatest.
When appropriate, the donated items enrich
a school's available supplies and materials.
The vast majority of the items are used as
incentives to encourage student achievement,
parent involvement, and teacher excellence.
THE CIS EDGE
Operating daily in more than 60 schools, CIS
knows the educators, the children, their families,
and the challenges they face. CIS staff members
monitor these needs, and then turn to the
850+ CIS partners for solutions. Matching
needs with resources is what CIS does best,
resulting in situations where everyone wins.
WAREHOUSE EXEMPLARS
Students who show significant improvement
in academics, attendance, and citizenship
are the primary targets for donated incentives.
Children may receive toys, games, clothing,
school supplies, field trips, and even refurbished
computers. DIVISION
SUCCESSES
Through the generosity of countless individual
and corporate partners, CIS has been able
to meet the needs of thousands of students,
families, and educators. Homeless children
have received the materials and supports necessary
for school. Families suffering from disasters
or domestic violence have been able to start
over with the help of the AIRC. VISION
To ensure that children, parents, teachers,
and schools have both the encouragement and
the physical resources necessary to foster
success.
