Communities
In Schools of Detroit (CIS) is a local affiliate
of the nation's leading community-based organization
helping kids succeed in school and prepare
for life.
MISSION Communities In Schools of Detroit champions the connection of needed community resources with schools to help young people successfully learn, stay in school, and prepare for life.
THE
FIVE BASICS
We will strive to ensure that every
child has…
•
A one-on-one relationship with a caring
adult •
A safe place to learn and grow •
A healthy start and a healthy future
•
A chance to give back to peers and
community
OUR
STRATEGY
CIS works with each of its partner schools to understand the unmet needs of its students and the challenges of the school community. With this information, CIS works tirelessly to develop partnerships with community and faith-based organizations, corporations, and caring individuals to meet those needs. CIS is the vital link between schools and the community.
