Welcome
Many children face challenges both inside and outside the classroom. Through a school-based site coordinator, Communities In Schools strategically aligns and delivers needed resources so that students can focus on learning.

Founded on the national-level more than 30 years ago, Communities In Schools (CIS) is the nation's largest dropout prevention organization, and the only organization proven to increase graduation rates and decrease dropout rates. Serving students and families in Metro Detroit since 1995, CIS links existing education and community resources to schools to help students successfully learn, stay in school, and continue on the path to graduation.

Our Mission
The mission of Communities In Schools is to surround students with a community of support, empowering them to stay in school and achieve in life.

A Circle and a Commitment
While the news coming out of Detroit is often less than favorable, there is good work being done in the Motor City, and passionate people like Anthony Rogers who are making a difference in the lives of students every day.
